GETHSEMANY ASHRAM,CHANGANACHERRY (1967 – Changanacherry Archdiocese)
This foundation owes its origin to the initiative of Br. Hippolytus. The plot for the Ashram was donated to us by Moolayil Brothers. Br. As the Guardian of St. Thomas Ashram, Donatus completed the work. The church’s foundation stone was laid on 3 March 1968 and was completed and consecrated by His Grace Mar Mathew Kavukatt, Archbishop of Changanacherry, on 7 September 1969. The beautiful church and the friary were built by Br. Gerard, and Br. Thomas Kalapura was his efficient helper. As a section of the Ashram was in a state of collapse, we were forced to demolish it. The construction of a new wing of the Ashram was completed in 2001.
